Hey everyone!! Here we are again!! Everyone's vids are freakin awesome so far!! I can only hope that i can come close!!! haha...well anywayz, this week we answered offthebeatenpath's question. It was a question that kinda had 4 questions it...they all flowed together. They were: 1. How do you mentally deal with the extreme urge to binge (not related to physical hunger), 2. Do you find eliminating sugar neccesary (I don't think I do anymore), 3. Regular set meals or go only by physical hunger , and 4. How do you deal with the insanely painful emotions and self doubt that come up when you choose to not binge?

I hope i did okay!! I tried to keep it sweet and simple!! I hope to talk to you all and don't forget to keep on giving us all your feedback and of course your questions that we can answer!!

  • hey melissa! Thanks so much for your perspective. I've not really dealt a whole lot w/binging so thanks for the insight. I only recently started to find comfort in food (a couple yrs ago-which isn't good either people are better!) and it terrified me...I'm really glad you joined us in breaking the stigma around this =)

Wouldn't eliminating foods cause you to feel like binging more...wait never mind your just gettin to that. lol.

  • Sarah btw. Sigh. I really gotta remember that.

  • Hi Melissa! Thank you so so much for your honesty and sharing your story... a short while ago i wanted to revert back but then after watching your video i dont even want to hurt! It's weird but I feel a kind of... relief? I dont know how to express it but.... thank you!!

  • Great Video Melissa! You're gawgeous! I luhhh a New Yawk accent! :) I luhhhhh you! Distraction, is a great weapon against engaging in ED behaviors. Talking to friends, journaling is absolutely awesome for processing emotionas & feelings. Awesomeness right here! xxx,

  • lmao Sarah! You just pulled a Karen :P

  • Journaling has always been a key to my recovery. Great vid!!

  • Great video Melissa! I am learning such a lot of my collab partners! I'm sure many people will find this really helpful.

    xxx

  • but, I'm trying to figure out what to do with my feelings instead of turning to food and other maladaptive coping skills to handle them. I still have urges to act on my behaviors, and that really stinks. Anyway, I found the suggestions helpful. Thank you. :)

  • Great video, Melissa! A couple pts...

I have a diagnosis of ED-NOS. My ED runs towards BED/Bulimia. I grew up with a lot of good food/bad food mentality, so for me, cutting out foods would just set me up for negative thinking that my ED would inevitably wrap itself around. I found retraining myself to eat all foods in moderation to be more helpful. Truth be told, I'm still trying to do this. I'm at the point now, where I've normalized (for me) my eating habits.

  • Hi Melissa. Thank you for answering my questions. This channel and whole community are giving me alot of comfort and hope. Thanks.
