one of the best shows ever, though season 2 often doesn't even feel like it's part of the same series... not saying it was bad or inessential, of course, I loved it, but it features the most characters and story arcs that are never resolved or referred to again in any other season, and the filming of it and atmosphere are often a lot different than other seasons. Kinda odd...

Completely skips over Nick Sobotka and Ziggy.

@jcj11222 ooooh so thats why... i just thought he was straight up dirty

@jcj11222 "he was giving info to the Greek in exchange for info on possible terrorist connections." Well, that in itself is called being dirty. Just because in the grand scheme of things he intended to do more good than harm doesn't mean that he was clean. Whether you (or his supervisors) approve of what he did or not, he was not playing by the rules. He was the direct catalyst of Sobotka's murder. If that's not being dirty, then I don't know what the word means.

As a previous commentator noted, "Greek leaves the city. He's not even Greek." We all try to make it out like social circumstances and shit make a person evil if they are evil. And this is CLEARLY the case with most of the gangsters in the wire, Wallace on up to Avon. What other life was there for them? But what the fuck is the GREEK's excuse, or Vondas? They are just evil and they seem to be evil by choice.

Season 2 was awesome.
The only thing that bothered me watching this is it comes out like the narrator missed one of the points of the season.
The FBI agent wasn't "dirty," he was giving info to the Greek in exchange for info on possible terrorist connections. The point is made repeatedly through the season: the FBI's focus is now on terrorism, not on crime in general. Everything Agent Koutris does is condoned by the Bureau, which is why he can just use his desk phone to call The Greek.
