The North Side Learning Center (www.nslcsyr.com) is a family literacy center in Syracuse, NY that helps refugees learn English and supports them in establishing jobs, education, and community in the US.
This is one of a series of interviews with staff and students of the NSLC with the goal of allowing them to tell their own stories.
Mohammed Abdullahi, a student at the North Side Learning Center, is a Somali man who fled the upheaval in his country in the early 1990s along with his family. Here he shares a little of his story, and talks about his hopes for the future.
