You are right Osama Bin Ladin used the fake name Tim Osmin and a fake Turkish passport he visited the US in 1987 to get stinger missles to shoot down soviet aircraft. Bin Ladin met with state department official Bill Sloan at a hotel in Sherman Oaks California. The meeting was arranged by former head of the FBI in Los Angeles Ted Gunderson. Ted talks about the meeting in his speeches just do a search for Ted Gunderson Osama bin Laden .at the time Ted didnt know who he was until later
