the biggest difficulty in fighting groups like the Taliban,PKK,hamas and alqaeda is that they sometimes hide amongst civilians.it makes it hard for soldiers to distinguish terrorist from innocent,while also making it impossible to use missiles and rockets without harming civilians. shame people die because extremists want to have their way.

@NorthCitySider actually a lot of people wants to join. It's the budget problem that's creating the army downsizing.
and 90% of civilian casualties are caused by the Talibans. It's a shame though, that many Afghans still think American troops are intentionally killing civilians.

In the wars in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Somalia, civillian casulaties make up 90% of those killed.
That creates terrorism.

That is nonsense, these wars are unconstitutional and immoral. If China was occupying the USA we would be bombing their homeland as well.
These wars make us less safe , less free, and put our troops in the line of fire needlessly. The 911 Report, the CIA, and Osama Bin Laden ALL said that occupation is what caused 911, so... we do it more?
The 19 hijackers were criminals that are dead, they do not represent any country.
We should follow the Constitution and bring the troops home.

I love to see videos like this of US soldiers winning the hearts and minds of children but there is a dark side to these wars. Civilians casualties are a problem but although less common, rape(Google Mahmoudiyah Killings),murder and torture( Abu Ghraib,etc.) still occur, and that is what is so detrimental to our efforts.
Too many contractors and psychopaths are being allowed in the military because almost no one wants to join it anymore. Also the chain of command is corrupt.

SHAME ON THE MEDIA!!! They are the reason that so many are so angry with the War on Terror. They only report the negative goings on, never any of the positive. If we stop the war now it will only make the terrorists think they have won!
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS! Keep up the great work that you are doing, and know that your commitment & sacrifice are NOT in vain. Ignore the morons who think otherwise. They are probably the ones voting for Obama who won't even put his hand over his heart.
