@sofaking3000 Also, one last thing. A Jedi like the one you described DOES appear in-game. If you play a light-sided Sith warrior (yes I know the inherent contradictions there), you will eventually come up against two Jedi guarding a room. Neither are wearing armor. If you choose to be a good person, one of them will not fight you, as you are not disturbing the peace or being evil. The other, however, obviously took his cues from the prequels.

@sofaking3000 Och aye. Whatever faults it has, it's at least a fun game with a good story (despite the changes to the lore). Good day.
-
@TheZacula Allright, i'm actually quite satisfied with that answer.. I know, it's a game, still I think some really original and slightly deeper concepts might have been gone to waste.. well, good day to you, and enjoy the game.

@sofaking3000 Funnily enough, I DO know what you're saying. The prodigal Jedi SHOULD be a monk who doesn't fight, only intercepting when necessary and in order to save a life. Not a soldier for an ideal. They should not rely on their own crude muscles and skills, but rather trust in the Force to guide them and protect them. Yoda (on Dagobah) is the best example.
Unfortunately this is a video game, so creative liberties were taken. I'm amazed the in-game version is as peaceful as it is.

@TheZacula Dude you're fucking impossible.. fuck what lucas said, he's a big child who doesn't know what he's saying... what i mean with clothes do not make the man is; jedi stand for peace, wisdom, the force and shit like "strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine. So no fancy armor and clothing.. it's fucking retarded. The jedi's power doesn't come from the latest armor so he can survive on the battle field, it comes from the force.. and wisdom.. and shit..

@sofaking3000 ...Actually, I compared Jedi to samurai because George Lucas has stated that samurai movies heavily influenced the whole "Jedi" thing, so I thought that PROBABLY is relevant.
And yes, he had a choice. The guy was throwing a punch. The proper way to handle that is hit him in the face and balls, which is a damn sight kinder and more decent than amputation.
Also, thank you. The clothes do NOT make the man, so why the hell are you complaining about them wearing armor?
-
@TheZacula Why are you comparing jedi to samurai and shit. Oh, yeah.. there called jedi 'knights'.. But if you listen to Yoda, it has more to do with buddhist monks than knights in shining armor. It's not the clothes that make the man. Also if you had read my previous post a little bit better.. Obi wan chopping a guy's arm off.. It was not like he had a choice did he? At least he didn't kill him for no reason.. but this is a lost battle i know.. I can explain all I want, it's no use..

@sofaking3000 Why is wearing armor a contradiction for Jedi? Wanting to not get shot is pretty bloody basic. Anyhoo, Jedi are originally based off of samurai and knights, two groups most known for wearing armor in the real world, so Jedi wearing armor is not a stretch. Also, the armor is not similar to the armor worn by the soldiers so there's no danger of it being a Republic uniform.
Also, Obi-Wan totally cut off a guys arm in a bar fight in "A New Hope". Very peaceful solution that.
-
@TheZacula of course jedi fight.. buy only if they have to.. they're not soldiers.. who wear armor and work for the republic. And no they don't forbid it, but for a jedi to wear armor is just contradictive. Jedi should be above that as they rely on the force and always seek for peaceful solutions. Yoda doesn't tell Luke to fight the emperor btw, he tells him he has to 'face' him. And in the end he realizes that fighting darth vader is only making things worse so he stops. watch the movie again..

@sofaking3000 ...I'm sorry, where in the world did you get ANY of this from? Obi-Wan clearly fought, Luke clearly fought, and in "Return of the Jedi" Yoda TOLD Luke to defeat the Emperor. Jedi fight. Obi-Wan as much as said in "A New Hope" that he fought for the Republic in the Clone Wars, so why wouldn't Jedi of the Old Republic do so as well? And why NOT wear full body armor? Nowhere in the movies (prequels or originals) was armor explicitly forbidden. You do not pay attention, do you?
they should create a civilian class
