3:14 We clearly see that there isn't a written part for the continuous, and because the musician has the complete orchestra score with him, we can deduce she is doing her own realisation. Epic!

Mr. Richter has left us far too soon. He was a "Giant" of an artist.
-
I love Koopman, Herriwegghe and Richter too.
-
It is in fact a huge mistake.
-
I certainly agree with you.
-
To perform on historical instruments is not a must i think, it's a choiche, and in the end comparing Richter with Koopman is a mistake, in terms of epoque difference, don't you think so?
-
Have you done yourself the favour of looking up Ton Koopman?
Do so and See what True baroque sounds like
-
Ah yes, well we shall have to disagree, friend. :)
My one complaint is that the size of the string sections could have been a *little* bit smaller, for my taste anyway.
-
btw.. do yourself a favour and type in "Ton Koopman" THAT's how baroque ought to be performed
lol, I would say this ensemble is pretty reasonably qualified to play Baroque music. Vibrato is totally acceptable in Baroque playing, the Romantic period style reflects this, as we had gone away from that broad, thick, warm string timbre in the Classical period.

Oh, Mr Firebreather, who now living on God's green Earth REALLY knows for sure what the "true" Baroque sound was?? Did you or Ton Koopman walk the Earth 300 years ago? I think not. So either enjoy the performance or pan it, but don't accuse them of not sounding like the Baroque players would, because there were absolutely no dynamic markings on scores of that period anyway. The WHOLE IDEA was individual interpretation!
