Death of an Ally canoe

This is what happens when you let your guard down. Beautiful july summer day and I knew the bridge was coming up since I had a map that said so. But the river picked up an enormous amount of force over just a couple of meters after a quick turn. We got out of the worst of it and clung to the river bank. Then we lost it and rolled into the water. The canoe broke over the pillars as if it was made of paper despite being a very sturdy boat. Luckily neither of us was hurt.
Respect the waters you paddle on, regardless of weather. At the very least a few lessons were learned.

The canvas ripped halfway through on the middle, half the parts for the canoe was washed downriver and lost. I am gonna miss that boat the next season.

The video was shot and edited entirely on my cell phone which is why the quality is quite bad.
