School Districts Concerned About Funding: Dec. 2009 Executive Director's Update

Dan Domenech shares some of the concerns he is hearing as he travels around the country speaking to AASA members regarding funding for the coming year. As schools anticipate a funding cliff and the loss of the stimulus dollars, AASA is advocating for regulatory changes to help districts as they put together their budgets the 2010-2011 school year. Domenech also shares concerns about the punative aspects of emerging regulations for the use of stimulus dollars in such areas as the transformation of schoools, and says existing excellent school systems should be recognized as models for education reform.
