@the26thhour rotaries were maid for plains. Like ShonsiZemun said, the heat was the main problem. Besides that, Norton didn't have the chance to participate in official races to put the bike on the map. The 588CC engine was to big to preform in the Moto GP and to small to be competitive in the WSB.

Main issue is huge amount of heat coming from that engine....

Where there safety/engineering problems?
Cause I always thought rotaries where made for bikes.
