Highlights of the Kings Comets at Northern Kentucky Bulldogs Heartland Football League game held July 19, 2011 at Newport High School in Newport, Ky. The Comets won in overtime, 28-22, in a game that featured 816 of offense, including 684 passing yards by the two teams combined. Chris Stanford set a Comets record with 314 passing yards on 11-of-18 passing, while Isaiah Cheatham set team marks with eight catches and 204 receiving yards. The pair also connected for two scores, including the game-winning 37-yard touchdown 6:19 into overtime. Will White ran for the Comets first touchdown and Mike Crawford returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter to help Kings lead, 12-7, at halftime. T.J. Brown completed 18 of 34 passes for 313 yards for Northern Kentucky with three touchdowns. Brian Ritter caught two fourth-quarter touchdowns to help erase a 19-7 deficit, finishing with five catches for 142 yards. Glenn Robinson added six grabs for 83 yards and a score. Both teams had an opportunity to win the game with field goals, but the Bulldogs' 35-yard attempt at the end of regular sailed wide right and the Comets' 25-yard attempt in overtime hit the left upright. The game, which took over four hours to complete, also featured a rain storm through most of the second quarter and parts of the second half and two delays while ambulances, one for an injured player and the other after a coach fainted on the sideline.
