  • Great video. The troops looked good marching to Garry Owen. Wish I could see more. I was part of Huckabee's MVB camped next to the ANV

  • I posted a longer video of the ANV marching to battle ... jimjamyou2be

  • ...and you missed getting the best fife and drum corps in the hobby, The Carolina Fifes and Drums, in the video. You can hear them playing Garyowen right up to the point that the video stops. You caught the best brass band but they weren't playing at the time. Great experience caught on tape though. I'll remember this forever...Thanks!

  • The music really made the video ... Thanks to the bands for making this a memorable moment - Will the Carolina Fifes and Drum be at Chickamauga or Cedar Creek ??

  • The Yankees were on the march to supress a people who only wanted to be left alone to govern themselves. The Confederates were fighting to defend their homes against a government they believed had become radicalized and was sending soldiers to govern them at gunpoint. I respect both sides in that war; soldiers in both armies fought courageously but the Rebs were the underdogs. The dash and fighting ability of the Confederate soldier is still recognized today. You fought all the way, Johnny Reb.

  • well said Clevinger67 i totally agree a free and independent south land. keep flying the flag boys deo vindice!!

  • my dad used to reanact the civil war

  • It would have been 100% realistic if not for that damn digital camera the dude is holding!

  • One person missed the reenactment!

  • I was in that column, somewhere.

  • Wow! This is the most amazing recreation of that famous six second film shot by inventor Léon-Alexandre Cànular in 1863.

The soldiers even look the same!

  • DEO VINDICE!!!!!!! THE SOUTH WILL BE INDEPENDENT ONCE AGAIN!!!!

  • rebel army lookin a might bit older and fatter than the ole days :)

  • Many Confederates wore what they could find to wear in the Civil War. With Lee winning battle after battle some of his men were entirely clothed in Union uniforms with flags matching. A.P.Hill's division at Sharpburg certainly carried captured Union flags.

Towards the end of the war, it was very rare that any Confederate troops under Lee had full Confederate uniforms. Belt buckles of "US" were turned upside down.

  • I've done re-enacting for years now, just had too take a few off due to some personal things. I've done Confederate, and have Never been a Yank. it's a great place to meet good ppl and enjoy history from a very interesting point of view. And by the way, the colums looked sharp. everyone was well in step.
