  • Cont'd.........After recently seeing the Webster Library across from Hegedorn and being at Greece's on Long Pond I think this is the direction Irondequoit needs to think of. I use both libraries Cooper rd and E Ridge Rd. Think out of the box...change is good.

  • Irondequoit townspeopel have always been very conservative and hate to think out of the box. I don't htink the Metro Centre was a good spot but maybe where Chase Pitkins was could have been developed (if Wegmans has it available , don't know who actually owns that bldg.)

  • The Town of Irondequoit (pop. 52,000+) has 2 school districts, East and West. One library serves each school district. The 2 existing libraries have outgrown their space and need several million $ of repairs to meet code. All of the towns in Monroe County that are similar size have one library. The Town of Greece has 2 libraries, but it's population is 94,000+. Since Irondequoit is over 15 square miles, that's a large area for each library to keep referring to them as "neighborhood libraries".
