@davehutchinson67 I agree with everything you say, but as a compromise rather than end the FED simply put them on a short leash that only allows marginal adjustments to monetary policy pending Congressional approval. Jimmy really was the best President of the later 20th century and it is a shame that so many people fail to recognize an honest man of faith.

Many politicians will rhetorically support the concept of a free market economy, and then turn around and support a bailout of institutions and speculators that should have been allowed to fail. On the other hand it is quite possible that the collapse of the economy is the result of the easy money policies of the FED that allowed rampant speculation to occur. Everything was running fine until there was a 1/4% increase in the prime rate back in 05 and it was like slamming on the brakes at Daytona

I"m voting for Ron Paul Do I agree with everything he says..hell no..but he is the most honest man I have ever seen run for a political office. Only one closer would be Jimmy Carter. @TheGoodnessIsGood This was a bill passed under the Bush Administration. The date shows this quite clearly - 3rd October 2008. This was before the election.
