Im a helicopter pilot (PPL) 170+ hrs.. Ive always been interested in these Gyros, question is, How are they in any kind of turbulence? What takes the Flapping in the blades? Doesn't seem to have a teetering rotor.. Is it thru blade flexing alone?

great video

Nice Flying!

This is the only demonstration (aside from those by Commander Ken Wallis) I have seen of hands off and feet off controls indicating the inherent stability of this particular design I've not seen on other ships of this type.

@cyflyer Ahh ok.

" Aggressive use of the stick... even full forward with full power.... nothing happens. Push it hard forward and let it go... it settles in level flight immediately."
Are you trying to hurt yourself? You will be able, if you continue like this. Gyro is a great flying machine, but it is never recommended to put it in a zero G condition.

@Tecnobingo : these were test flights for the aviomania Genesis Gyro. We need to explore its envelope so our customers don't. Most Gyros when they fly at ~0G they have tendencies of power push over or torque over which can kill you in a split second. "Genesis" was designed to eliminate both of the above. BUT..... At low G's the rotor slows down Fast!! those maneuvers were sustained for only 2-3 seconds and the RRPM was in RED. Maintain the low G and you loose the rotor. Tests were progresive

@cyflyer Those maneuvers ARE NOT RECOMENTED for normal Operations. They were tested gradually and at altitude (with a parachute) so we could "Prove" the design. How many manufactures are testing there gyros to the limits?
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME... Even with our Gyros. Taking the Gyro to the limit requires good knowledge of the aerodynamics involved, knowledge of the minimum safe limits and a planed recovery action. Anything past that... like stalling and spinning an airplane from 300 feet

@cyflyer Where is the chute located ?

@3593893 On this video there is no chute. The first tests were made at high altitude and the pilot was wearing a parachute.
