Here's a virtually forgotten hit brought to you by The Brat Pack (Patrick Donovan & Ray-Ray Frazier) and produced by pre-C+C Music Factory hitmakers Robert Clivillés & David Cole. This version is also known as "The Jack Swing Mix."

The visualisation is an overview of the progression of front-and-back images of the original cassette single that I embellished upon in Microsoft Paint -- to make a CD-5 package of the 12" single (for my personal use! I'm creative like that).

  • Hey Tre! Yeah Craig Derry has been on so many records it's no joke. He actually coached Al B. Sure! for his debut. Robert Clivilles suggested we work with him before we recorded the album. The Great Will Downing was singing backround on our thing and Craig did allot of sessions with him. He is a great artist. Not surprisingly Martha Wash was the most incredible singer I ever saw..she just needs one take..it's always golden..Have a terrifc week

    Peace,

  • @yangclaw26 ... don't know how I missed this reply! That's cool how many greats you worked with, right out of the gate! That had to have been a great time in your life. At that time, I was wishing for that kind of musical success! Hope all's well with you, Patrick.

  • Hello mates,'

This is Patrick from the group. Hope all is well! I sing the first verse then Ray Ray takes the second and we share backrounds and adlibs. On backround there is David Cole, Debbie Cooper from Change and C&C Music Factory, Craig Derry also I believe. Thanks for the comments. Be well and God Bless1

  • @yangclaw26 .... Good to see you around, Patrick! :-) Thank you for the info, man. I didn't know Deborah Cooper was with with Change. And Craig Derry is a name I've not heard in forever! But it surely did grace MANY an album's liner notes back in the day, didn't it? :-)

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us a view and a few words here, Mr. Donovan! It's very much appreciated! I also appreciate that I'm allowed to post this song, believe that. Thanks again!

  • Ambrosia did this first (and George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam or Boy Meets Girl wrote it), but I really LOVE this version better! Thanks for posting it. C&C were awesome back in the day!!!

  • @TheFIRSTFatJohn ....and I think you may be confusing the song's publishing company Rubicon with Shannon Rubicam.

  • Thank you for posting this!!!!!! I have been trying to find this for years !!!!!!!!

I guess now, I'm done with the internet. :)

  • @TheFIRSTFatJohn... Thanks for posting! I love your enthusiasm, but I do need to call you on an error... "You're the Only Woman" was written by David Pack, a member of the song's original performers, Ambrosia. (You can even see that David Pack credit on my video here, when I put up the image of the back of the cassette single.)

Merrilll and Rubicam did not write this song. It was written by Ambrosia's David Pack.
