  • The owner appreciates the interest. At present, he wants to keep it... and share its story with others.

  • Re speed, on another website, someone says, "The single-cylinder motor was modeled after the de Dion-Bouton vélocipède engine, which produced 1.75-horsepower. The Indian Single could reach a top speed of 25 miles per hour."

  • Yes, the owner replaced the tires, and rode it onto the field. It's a great bike!

  • Beautiful machine.

  • Thanks... the owner plans to keep it as found.

  • @Woodyf650 Who said i was talking to you ! A bit strange

  • @Woodyf650 so what ? want a prize ??

  • happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday INDIAN happy bithday to you!!!

  • @2cvdave I think the information you presented is in regards to the earlier single cylinder bikes. I think at this point (1911) the 500cc singles were producing 4hp, and the twins were producing 7hp. Of course, I could be thinking of another manufacturer. There were planty back then..

  • @ToneProjectTV That's a dumb idea. You would lose quite a bit of money by going that route. If someone were ever to sell a bike like this (which they would probably have to be crazy to do,) the best place to do it would be at a vintage motorcycle swap meet or an auction. Better chance of making more money in the end. But like I said, why would anyone want to sell one of these?

  • This was from when men were men and all motorcycle riders were mechanics!
