Chas & Dave on 'This Is Your Life' in 1985 (part 1).

Despite their immense popularity, Chas & Dave are very poorly represented via YouTube. I have around 20 hours of footage (mainly from their 1979-1987 commercial & creative peak) so I've started this channel to share some of these classic performances. I'm always looking for more Chas & Dave footage (or upgrades of videos I already have), so if you have anything & feel like trading then please get in touch! Also let me know if there are any particular songs that you're after & I'll see if I can help. Please note this channel is not officially sanctioned by Chas & Dave, & any infringement of copyrights is unintentional; my sole aim is to promote their music to a wider audience.

See my blog for an in-depth review of Chas & Dave's classic albums (& how to buy them on official CDs):

  • How sad it's all over :(

  • @sarah3man It isn't quite all over (they're doing another show in December).

  • When did ya say Edmonton become part of London again, please, cock? Only, I'm never quite sure whether I'D be classed as a Londoner or not- (I was born up The North Mid on the twenty-sixth of March, Seventy-nine, if that means anything!) Would I be classed as a Middlesex boy or a Norf Landon boy? :/

  • @CockneyRebel1979 About 1965 apparantly, so you're safe! : )

  • Me and me missus went to see Chas and his band down the Cavern Club in Liverpool on the eighteenth of March, we got talkin' to the bloke himself after the show, and he was amazed to find out that I lived just round the corner from his old family home! I told him I was an Edmonton boy meself, he was like: "Blimey! Really?! Whereabouts in Edmonton d'ya come from?", I tells him: "Gordon Road", and he's like: "Bloody hell! That's just round the corner from where I used to live". I shit you NOT! :)

  • @CockneyRebel1979

Good ol' Chas! Who played drums for him by the way? Apparantly Mickey Burt is semi-retired now, so Chas' son Nicholas Hodges often backs him instead.

  • Brilliant stuff!

  • It's so nice to hear another Edmonton accent again! I VERY rarely get to hear one, up in Lincoln, where I live now. However, I've been up here for nigh-on three years now, and, I'm pleased to say, I've held onto ME OWN Edmonton accent pretty bloody well! :)

  • best disguise ever?

  • Dave had a shock through his amplifier. I was lucky enough to pull the plug and save his life. I asked Sue to keep an eye on him while he recovered. He was also almost killed with electric shock in Brindisi while playing with my band 'The Tumbleweeds' I saved him again. he's a top bloke. cheers Johnny Regan

  • It WAS his boy, Nick, on the drums for him at the Cavern gig. After the gig, all me and Chas talked about was dear old "Edmon'on Green", (as we call i' dahn there)- it actually made me feel quite bloody homesick! HE seemed more intrigued than I did about the fact that we come from the same place! He's the salt of the earth, old Chasy-boy, and the sort of bloke I'd've happily stood and had a drink with when I still lived down in Edmonton- (in fact, I DID drink with blokes like him down there!) :)
