I was recently on a train from Ottawa to Montreal and discovered that the ticket taker can also scan the bar code from your i-phone, so you don't even have to have a ticket printed on paper.

I think this will improve the process and perhaps access too. Purchasing tickets on-line is become more straightforward. My sons 27 and 20, are now both travelling by train between. They have made trips between Melville to Winnipeg, and Melville to Saskatoon. They are both tech savvy, and it is one way to invite new ridership. I hope that Via restores Melville as an identified Train Service Center for people boarding, locally. Travelling to Saskatoon is not environmentally sound.
