Dust by Sarah Daniels. Directed by Ali Miller. Performed by the members of the Acting Conservatory (class of 2007) on April 27-29, 2007 in the Christopher and Dana Reeve Studio Theatre at Imagination Stage. Cast members seen in this clip include Sam Zeisel, Joel Wilson,Tamara BreuerAmir Fogel, Robert Amico, Patricia Sollevald, Natalie Berk, Rebecca Wellner, Sarah Stein-Lubrano, Sophia Elena Hoffstacker, Marianne Murphy, and Rebecca Roe.

In Dust, a lonesome American teenager, Flavia, is in the London Underground on her way to see a production of Julius Caesar with a group of mean-spirited classmates who won't accept her into their clique. When a bomb goes off, Flavia is suddenly transported to ancient London, where Romans ruled and catching a gladiator fight at the local amphitheater was the standard in entertainment. Before long, Flavia finds herself fighting in the middle of the arena, empowered by her training with the female gladiator, Amazon, to do battle with her fears and insecurities and, ultimately, better equipped to deal with her real-life problems should she ever make it back to the 21st century.

Students of the Acting Conservatory program spend 3 semesters intensely studying the craft of acting including units in fundamentals of acting, voice and movement, and classical and contemporary monologue and scene work. Their final semester is spent rehearsing their graduation show with a guest team of directors and designers.

  • This is very Intresting! I'd like to see a live action movie of this. Even if its from 07 its very neat.

  • This is an interesting play. I've never heard of Sarah Daniels before, though I am a film and play buff. Interesting mixture of action, adventure, drama, and teen agnst. The plot's good too, a young girl learning to cope with everyday problems and becoming a more secure, stronger person. A good mixture of modern and ancient times as well, ancient Rome was very barbaric, but for this girl to learn about herself there was very appropiate as you learn how to be humane. Loved it, post more of it.
