  • It's cool when old people come back from the dead to give the hero sage advice to help him win. Kinda like Obi-Wan.

  • I loved this episode, partly because, within the limits of Prime Time, it was uncensored (SOB, ass, prick) and sometimes it’s better not to bowdlerize. Partly it’s because of his reconciliation with God (Her ghost doesn’t exonerate Him; Bartlett himself does). Finally, he felt guilt at not standing up to his father about the women’s salaries. This is his redemption; she reminds him to go for it.

  • The shot of the rain hitting his shirt and his facial expression are simply brilliant.

  • She knew how to dare him to be the man she knew he could be. She was the power behind his throne.

  • I always love that Charlie takes his coat off, figuring that if the President isn't wearing one, he isn't either.

  • Most kids need to learn that they can hit the bastard back.

  • @Hobbes1025 "Reality" TV which is actually no more real than the Flintstones is killing broadcast TV. Now the only place where you can find anything even remotely interesting is on cable. You are right on in your analysis.

  • @Kaalec Most networks want cheap-ass shows like The X Factor, Jersey Shore, Survivor and the like, so decent shows like this, Sports Night, Studio 60 on Sunset strip, Firefly (and the like) get cancelled, or moved around so many times nobody can find them to watch.

  • Brilliant. Only Sorkin would do something as bold as bring in Mrs. Landingham for this.

  • Why isn't there anything on network tv that even comes close to the quality show The West Wing was. Whether you believed in its politics or not, the writing, the acting, and the directing were extraordinary.
