Across the EU, women earn on average 17.4% less than men. However, equal pay for equal work is one of the European Unions founding principles. Differences in pay when a man and a woman are doing exactly the same job, with the same experience and skills, and same performance have fallen thanks to the effectiveness of European and national legislation on equal pay.

Women *refuse* to work in traditionally higher paying jobs. We see women sewing indoors instead of laying bricks at night in the cold. Has anyone ever seen a woman working outdoors , except as illegal prostitutes?

Incorrect. Men and women are doing different work. How can the entire gender wage gap be due to discrimination? Women do not perform the same labor. If they did, the number of male and female workplace deaths would be equal. Instead, the workplace deaths are almost 100% male.

Why not document how women work shorter weeks, less overtime, commute less, work more indoors, during the daytime, do less hard manual labor, die and injure less often?
