@jtayok Because it shows that he has little regard for anyone. The very fact that he thought it was a cosy family story, shows that he does not understand what is wrong with what he did. He showed total disregard for the suffering of his own family dog, his children who travelled with a distressed dog, it shows he lacks empathy.
