  • Dude. Tim Robbins is a communist. He's totally open about it. A creepy left wing nut who is taking home millions from stupid people that pay for his wooden acting in the form of movies. How is that different than the bankers? One gives money to help you make money. The other takes your money in exchange for a moment less of boredom and tells you 'others besides me should not be allowed to make money'

  • This movie is incredibly relevant today, STILL.

  • It was based on Reagan and the far-right nuts who cheered all of his destructive policies. The film included Reagan-Bush's Iran/ Contra scandals. But it may as well have been a sneak-peek to George W. Bush, Dan Quayle, Sarah Palin and the tea-psychos. Somehow, this film succeeded in being funny as well as creating a far-right Dylan-like singing candidate. This film should be re-released in these times of apathy and rising tea-nuts.

  • @hunterochoa You want all that hateful music to be used by the Right-Wingers? Sure its nice sounding and all, but the message is purely hateful.

  • Robbins didn't release a soundtrack because he was afraid conservative, not getting the joke, would take the songs seriously and worse, make them hits

  • @JikeMones Ahead of its time? It was about the Regan campaign...

Yes though, it is a great movie.

  • "I'm a bleeding heart, let's give money away

To lazy people, in the slums, I'm a bleeding heart

    Let's eliminate our nuclear bombs...

    Arabs can be....

    our friend.

    Right? (lol)

It's plain to see, what you believe

    Would lead to anarchy"

Bob Roberts is STILL ahead of its time. What a great movie.

  • Tim Robbins said in an interview the songs worked within the context of the film but he wouldn't want this bile coming on the radio while he was driving.
