eamon sullivan: 50m WR holder, 6th place at olympics. WR intact.
eamon sullivan: 100m WR holder, second place at olympics.
libby trickett: 100m WR holder, second place at olympics.
leisel jones: 200m WR holder breaststroke, second place at olympics.
all this equals australian swimmers being super fast but consistent chokers in big events.. gold is all that matters at olympics not world records and australia just doesn't have that winning mentality.

In the english speaking world, one can use "ridiculous" to mean something beyond brilliant, incredible unbelievable and the like, which i OBVIOUSLY meant!!
It's not just used in it's normal context as meaning something stupid or pathetic.
In the non-english speaking world such slang use of the word can cause confusion.

But it's the 50. As a sprinter, I know how fickle that race can be. One bad start, entry, etc. can take you from 1st to 8th.

I think those swimmers have chances only for the bronze (3rd place).
