Liquid nitrogen and the spinning bottle

An elicitation question: liquid nitrogen is poured into a canister that has three holes with bent piping coming out the top. The canister is placed on top of a cold ice pack compared to placing the container in room temperature water.

The questions: What is going on with energy in this situation? What are necessary conditions or features we need to discuss?
