  • We are going through something similar, my husband is out of work at present. My parents especially my father are very supportive as father has been out of work many times. My inlaws however are not as supportive, they have been very critical of their son and it has put distance between them. I make very good money in nursing so we are not in dire straights, and even if we were I would never blame my husband as this is not his fault. We are a team and we stick together no matter what.

  • It would help if the family would take me seriously and start preparing for this, so that the pressures we may deal with in the future, won't be as much of a strain on our relationships. Because I'm up here doing what I can to prepare, I have family members who are much more financially better off who aren't doing anything to prepare, and I'm going to be upset when they expect me to take care of them, because I'm taking care of them now, by telling them to take care of themselves, while they can
