Tan Hoon Cheng - Ex-ISA detainee

Tan Hoon Cheng is a reporter from Sin Chew. In September 13, 2008 she was detained under the Internal Security Act or ISA. Although she was released within 18 hours after detention, it still caused a stir because she was only carrying out her duty as a reporter. One of her report mentioned the remarks made by Ahmad Ismail which eventually blew into a racism issue. The Home Minister at that time, Syed Hamid Albar said the detention was for her own safety.
