WIP Platformer v1.1

Updated version of the platform game I'm currently making.

Changes:
• Added backgrounds
• Working selectable palette
• Improved graphics
• Added a health system
• Added objective to pickup.
• Enemies that hurt you.
• Improved collision
• Added different levels
• Added menu screen
• Added ability to save level.
• Added debug log.

Fixed a major memory leak that caused the memory usage to keep going up, now it uses a steady 7,000Kb memory throughout.

When you hit an enemy, the player flashes to let you get away safely so you only lose one life, once the player stops flashing they are then vulnerable to attack.

Frame rate is about 30-35 on average, the video lags alot due to hypercam.

How do you save the levels?

Which lib let you do that? write files to txt files?

You enter a name of the file you want to save it as. It uses ifstream and ofstream to write/read from files.

Oh ok.. cool! How did you learn allegro? any tutorials you can show me?

I'm learning C++ / allegro at uni, they teach the basics and let you expand upon it. I great that teaches both is Game programming all in one.
