@WinterWeatherII Yeah I think you are right, they have maps on NOAA's website of the coverage area...I think after Sullivan county (which is one county after mine I live in Lycoming) Wilkes-Barre takes over. Then after that area its Mt. Holly NJ.

@maggio211 I've lived here all my life, not sure why they were never read faster. I think they slow it down because they may have had it go faster in the past but may have had problems with people missing some of the info. Only thing I can think of. Or maybe they just wanted to be different :)

There seem to be a lot of tornadoes/severe thunderstorms heading toward Knoebels, mainly this past summer. Have you ever been there when one hit? I haven't. I wonder what kind of procedures they have in place? (For those of you that don't know, Knoebels Grove is a large local amusement park.)

I don't know why State College reads their warnings very SLOWLY. I was told this was the slowest in the whole US.

I've been contemplating getting one of those WR-602s for a good while, but haven't got around to getting one. Now that we've just had a Super Outbreak of deadly tornadoes here in NC, I'll damn sure have one before the end of the week! Looks like the radio works quite well and has a good small shape to it.
