READ THE DANG DESCRIPTION-oh wait you're reading it now.
From Neon:
Ok, I know this video may not make any sense, so please read this to understand the full meaning. Even if you are thinking, "yeah! I know NeonWerewolf and her characters!" I still have never explained this plot to anyone other that Aura and Blooddragon.
The guy in the video with bat wings is my Teen Titans original character, Shade. The video is based off a fan fiction series I am writing. In the third book (which exists only in my head right now because were not even done with the second) involves a very complicated story line that involves Shade having to kill Raven despite being her best friend. In the story, Raven's demon side finally takes over and she turns evil and tries to kill everyone and destroy the world.
Now Shade and Raven are both immortal which is long story, even though there is no proof Raven is immortal in the TV series. Its just something I added. Anyway, based on the Greek theory that only an immortal can kill another immortal, Shade is faced with a situation that involves him having to choose between the universe being destroyed, or killing his best friend Raven.
In the end the world is saved, but Shade is to live forever with the guilt of killing his best friend. And his loyalty keeps him from ever forgetting her, and he is driven insane. This is basically what the video is about. Shade being haunted by his memories and eventually completely looses it.
Very happy ending, right?
Don't worry. This wont be the end of the story.
Now, this is the end of my intro. After you watch the video, feel free to read on for some behind the scenes stuff.
--------------------------------------------------
I AM FINALLY DONE. After about four months, I am done.
Now I haven't told many people about this project but it is the first AMV that I animated all by myself without giving up. I actually started another video about Shade last year (which sucks donkeys now that think about it) but I gave up after a month.
I got the original idea for this video when my friend Blooddragon showed me a Warrior Cats video about Ashfur that used the same song. I loved the song to death, and seeing the quality of the animation, and realizing that it still looked awesome, I decided to make one of my own. My video is 100% based off that video.
Now the first thing that appealed to me about making this video was "YES! I don't have to draw backgrounds!" Backgrounds are the one thing I hate drawing. In this video, the backgrounds are mostly all white with a streak of gray. It usually takes about... 2 seconds to draw that.
Now I had to decide how I wanted to draw the characters. I knew drawing them normally would take forever and it would eventually overwhelm me, so I decided to stick with a half chibi, half normal style.
In the end, I had around 60 megabytes worth of data for the video in a folder. For those who aren't good with computer lingo, I had about 360 individual pictures. Some of them I left out of the video.
Now imagine you have a cheap 8 year old computer that's about to burst into flames at any moment, and your running a video software that has to process 360 pictures at once. I happened to be in this situation, so therefore my software would crash about 5 times whenever I worked on it. Good thing Movie Maker backs up my file every minute.
In the end, after working on this project, I have come to respect all animators and what they do. They spend days or even months drawing pictures and coloring them, for a TV show or movie. It took me four months to assemble 3 minutes of video.
I am proud, but don't expect another one any time soon. -_- I need a break.
