  • Rubarb rubarb, mnur mnur mnur. He goes on too way too long. My short attention span needs faster info. No need to repeat the same bit. we get you man.

  • @hypnosquirrel yes, Long Cycle Jerk with two kettlebell is not easy but as long as you stick with the training, your strength, functionality and endurance will improve.

A lot of elite lifters have their own style. It doesn't mean that it can't be improved but simply means that these guys do a lift a certain way. Copying such styles is very dangerous for a beginning or intermediate lifter. Stick with good technique and your own style will emerge soon.

  • even w/ your technique 2kbs are hard on the upper back, on the clean portion. i give major props to anyone who does long cycle w/ 20kg bells for 5min+. Tough training. 32kb is phenomenal in my opiinion. i do wish you had covered chalking the bells in your dvd though. still good job. it appears thatt v federenko doesn't seem to incorporate the lean back on the clean. just and observation.

  • @redcapKO what is your goal? For average person who wants fitness, health and fat loss, in addition to gaining muscle, kettlebells would be a better fit. Kettlebells are capable of creating a full body workout that will challenge anyone and help with burning fat, creating muscle and endurance gains. Kettlebells tend to target the whole body all at once, focusing on weak links.

But don't ignore barbell all together. it can be a great addition to a fitness program, depending on goals.

  • Which is more effective? Kettle-bell or lifting weights like barbell or What does both target? thanks

  • @jamesp6282 if used properly kettlebells will burn fat and improve strength and endurance. Most of my clients are not athletes, they are regular people who care about being healthy and looking good. In my opinion kettlebell training is one of the best ways to improve overall functionality, health and appearance. The key to achieving it is proper kettlebell technique and correct progression of movements in addition to the correct weight of the kettlebell.

  • @dkanygin i agree it can be done. but for most of my older clients they only care about looks not to muck about power. but by no means am i condemning using them on the contrary, their a viable tool in making gains in total fitness, speed, and power. Also they can be safer to use then a straight bar in a lot of compound lifts.

  • @jamesp6282 Kettlebells are one of the best ways to improve joint mobility and build muscles. It is a perfect tool for those with chronic pain. You just need to pick proper weight, use correct technique and proper sequencing of movements. I have a client who broke his back and he is now doing snatches and jerks with 24kg bell. I also have many people in their 60s starting kettlebell training with great results. Make sure to use proper technique and common sense.

  • @fitnessmojo yes kettlebells are awesome for power. and streinght. but are horrible for joint preservation and muscle hypertrophy. If you have anyone with back, knee, shoulder injuries or chronic pain in those areas, I would not let them touch a kettlebell.

but if you want to develop young explosive athletes that have awesome ligament and tendon strength then use kettlebells in your regiment.

  • @fitnessmojo Good question. If you are leaning back by yourself, then it may put some pressure on lumber region. Kettlebells, however, change that equation by changing center of mass and creating new mechanical system Making it safe. Jerks or long cycle are actually good for someone with anterior pelvic tilt because the full lift asks lifter to move pelvis back as well as forward (similar to yoga's cat and dog. The lift will improve spinal flexibility and help create a neutral pelvic tilt.
