Excellent playing and showmanship. I got the chance to jam an entire set on keyboards with Michael and Peanut at the Sonora CA Blues Fest after party at the Sonora Pub (Aug 2010) along with Jeff Watson on guitar and Don Heflin on bass. Then Scott Sutherland sat in on bass for the last song. It's rare to never that I get a chance to jam with guys like that! Needless to say, the band was in rare form with no holds barred. Music went on till after 2am.

I just saw Mr Burks perform yesterday at the North Atlantic Blues Festival in Rockland, Maine. Outstanding! Mr Keb' Mo' was the headliner, but Mr Burks was of the same or better caliber as him and Mr Robert Cray! Seek out this man and his excellent band for some of the finest blues you will ever hear!
