this teacher should be fired, "can we put our hands in our lap for goodness ssake" what is that? she seems like shes more concerned with making her job easy by being strict than actually helping to develope healthy happy children.

She is doing an excellent job. You have to develop structure or the learning environment will be chaotic and most of the day will focus on behavior issues and no learning. So hats off to her for developing structure! It's a challenging job that most would not last a day!!!!!

God love this teacher...But those peddle pusher pants and flip-flops she's wearing! So unprofessional! Looks like she's going on a picnic. And that poor little girl who walks into her classroom late gets totally ignored! I'm glad I'm old...I don't remember school being like this.

@xheatherlecx Actually the children tend to be happier with structure. In my classroom, I was much nicer to my 3rd graders than necessary. They kinda liked me, but their behaviors were completely inappropriate. When I tightened the reins- i.e. we couldn't move on in the activity until I had 100% compliance- we got to do a lot more fun, freeing stuff as a class and I could trust them to do those things without hurting themselves or each other. Structure always helps & it's better in the long run.

People should stop judging teachers negatively. I don't think she's mean if you are too easygoing with kids they might end up treating you like their mommy. I bet she loves them but is acting professional

i say its alright to be strict but NOT THAT Strict ,, with enthusiam woman and some kids have nervesness ,anxiety or something lik Adhd but its too soon to know so be more patient and welcome someone that comes in [politeness] or the assistant should do that

@berry775 I agree. Imagine being responsible for 18-25 5 years old throughout the school year; not only for their well being and happiness, but also for giving them the educational foundation that they will need in order to be successful throughout their school years. This teacher is doing a great job explaining her procedures and expectations; preparing these children to be able to learn all they can learn in school :)
