Nice catch of the twist timing. I was twisting too early, but this fixed my problem. Thanks.
I'd highly recommend learning a slant gainer and butterfly twist before trying to attempt, or perfect, this flip -- for anyone still trying to get this one down.

That's exactly why it is a cork. If the legs go over the head (more importantly, if the hips go over the head), then it is a gainer full twist. Corks are not inverted...or at least they aren't supposed to be by definition.

Hi, are corks easier to learn if you already got down b-twists? I already got b-twists down clean, and im trying to learn something new. Whenever I go to the j-step, i cant keep my body horizontal. What am I doing wrong?

Btwists may get you used to twisting, but it isn't necessary. As for getting horizontal, make sure you're looking over your shoulder. I recommend you watch my "j-step tutorial" video. It's slow motion, which should give you some good ideas.

is it possible to learn this when you haven't even learned the beginning tricks like aerial and whatnot?

Of course. Anything is possible, but if you learn it without learning your basics, it just may not look as pretty, or it may simply be more difficult to learn as you'll have more fear barriers you need to break than if you had broken them while learning the basics.
