After two days of rain in Tokyo I woke up to a thick coating of this yellow stuff all over my car. What looks like a glare between the glass and the body of the car is actually pollen. My first thought was "ewe! Radioactive sludge from Fukushima?" But no, we have been 'assured' and now I am convinced that it was just massive amounts of pollen.

Note:
Every year, huge plumes of pollen waft off the cedar trees surrounding the Kanto Plain where Tokyo is located. Not sure where this video is shot, but it illustrates it perfectly: http://youtu.be/Qgdq-RjmJhw The same thing happens in Texas. Look it up on Youtube.
Any rain picking this up as it passes over the mountains would release it as yellow rain on the city below. I haven't yet lost my hair. According to the experts there is an abundance of pollen this year because of last year's hot summer.

Note: It is now a week since posting this. I haven't lost my hair. Radiation levels, according to my iphone app are low and Tokyo is sadly devoid of tourists. A lot of people will go out of business because of the natural fear of radiation, but Tokyo is open for business. Don't succumb to fear. Of course be safe and return to Tokyo when things calm down. This is not a Chernobyl by far. Tokyo is 140 miles from the reactor.

  • Yeah, but I live in Tokyo and we aren't sick and this happens every year at the same time. Just a bit more. I had forgotten. The whole reason I posted this darned video was to show my shock at the coincidence. Perhaps I should take it down since people are reading too much into this video. Sigh...

  • Everyone that thinks that this is nuclear waste blowing down from Fukushima, don't you think all of us in Tokyo would be sick by now if THIS MUCH yellow rain residue had in fact been iodine or cesium? We are as healthy as ever. This was pollen. It happens every year, just not this much. Then in May it switches to the yellow sands blowing off the Gobi desert.

  • Please folks. I didn't post this to create fear mongering. It definitely is pollen. Look up cedar pollen plumes yourself. It is one of nature's amazing events or disasters if you have allergies like my wife.

  • Its always harmless, all radiation is low, all the water is safe to drink, mercury is good for you, radiation is good for you, there is no such thing as radiation, but if there was it would be good for you, This isnt as bad as Chernobyl, but if it was, Chernobyl wasnt that bad, there is no war in Lybia,2+2=5, war is peace, ignorance is strength your government loves you.

  • Are the Japanese really this stupid? Government pisses radioactive shit on them and calls it ordinary rain.

  • I'd be more concerned with radioactive fallout.

  • @hooktrunk I think you should leave it up through this year and see what happens. The accident is not over and there is a great concern that pollen will carry radioactive particles. It would be interesting to know if the pollen is pollen or yellow dust this year and if it increases or decreases.

  • THAT is seriously messed up. I would not be able to sleep, much less work in the contaminated areas.

  • Remember the '06 NBC news report w/ Paul Moyer called "Toxic Skies"? Chemtrail planes sprayed the skies heavy up in the Lake Arrowhead/Big Bear mountain areas & it left mass amounts of yellow dust all over cars, plants, etc. The govt. also said it was "pollen". Except the local pharmacist said that 1/2 the town was sick, they cancelled school for the wk, & locals had it tested & found dozens of unnatural ingredients...submicron polymers, lead, thorium, manganese, arsenic, barium, aluminum, etc.

  • Keep in mind, yellow rain does result from Iodine-131.

  • Happened today in New York near the border of canada 1st time in 30 years of living here i have ever seen this our pollen levels are always low. No way this is pollen.

  • @MarijuanaMichelle hydro we have hydro in scotland but they dont use it coz they cant put a price on it so the stations lay idal
