Type I is something you are born with? What hole did they find this doctor. Come on people... if she can't even get it right then how do we expect the general public to understand.

Please don't confuse the issue! Thank-god the information is getting out and it is on National Television. We need the FACTS not confusion.

Nancy Sneiderman should know better than to say most are born with type 1 diabetes - very few are "born" with it. Lots of adults have type 1 diabetes too. Howard, a fingerstick blood glucose check should be done in the pediatrician's office immediately if it's supsected - it doesn't have to start with glucose tolerance test or A1c.
