Hmm, that's interesting. I wonder if the age of the film crew would impact your results...younger people are probably assumed to be messing around or on a school project...but if you had some guys with silver in their beards...the subjects might not be so relaxed about it. Who knows!

Just curious, did anyone ask what this was about before agreeing to do it?? Did you explain it to them at any point...perhaps afterwards?

we explained what was going on after the fact. we literally came out of nowhere to film people and then started feeding them lines. actually that couple that we filmed in the street didn't stick around long enough for us to explain things... but the sitting people all asked us what was going on and we debriefed them.
