@edetish And they've made a John Carter of Mars movie. Deja Thoris wears clothes and I'm sure the brutal violence is all but taken out.
Why they couldn't farm it out to one of their subsidiary movie houses can only be explained by the following phrase:

I imagined Ender as being shorter and not as tough-looking as he did in this movie. I also think the insides of buildings and their technology should look a little less futuristic. It's just a little too much like other animated sci-fi movies and it should be more unique.

I pray that nobody makes an ender's game movie. The book was great because it provided a medium that could be used to go more in-depth with the characters and their thoughts and feelings. If they made a movie, that ability would be lost, and I fear that the incredible book would be made a laughing stock.
