Project Harar is a health outreach charity that secures professional surgical treatment and after-care for children and young people with severe facial disfigurements from remote and very poor areas of Ethiopia.
Project Harar's aim is to give and restore proper facial function and good appearance to our young patients and with that, their independence, dignity and a place in their home community.
In August-September 2009 Project Harar Ethiopia organised its first independent surgical mission of six UK and Dutch medics who travelled to Addis Ababa to perform very complex surgery on some of the charity's most severely affected patients. This video brings to life their extraordinary work, as well as capturing the incredible courage shown by our young patients.
