I've made a 2d sprite-based animation system. It uses curves along with curve looping, tangents etc., to set keyframes for the drawing to use. It also has structuring so that you can have a "skeleton" structure for your character (as in the video), and animate it in different ways, building up a library of animations.   • @1epicrose XNA; C#. The animation itself was just done by trial and error, figuring out the keyframes and then hooking them up.
