  • I love the fact that she sang this live on TV. It's a true testament to her talent that she can sing it this well without a hitch, hitting every note. Today nobody could do this. Eydie's the best.

  • At the time this was done, everyone sang live! THere were many great talents at the time, who could do this without a hitch...I doubt if 1% of today's 'singers' could even think about singing live.

  • Nice to hear Einar Swan's great song performed at a faster, more jazzy tempo for a change. It certainly has the potential for it, but the standard renditions (like Sinatra's) are all quite slow and tearfully sentimental -- because of the lyrics, naturally. Eydie ignores them, and the result is refreshening!

  • Teresa Brewer released a nice recording of this tune some years ago for Coral records; I believe it was the title cut of one of her LP's.

  • Eydie Swings The Bues became one of my favorite albums about fifteen minutes into my first listen! What sound! What arrangement! What a bleesing to have found it! Thank You very much Eydie!

  • ok the best 67 cents i ever spent were on this album(...swings the blues)-goat hill records costamesa-ca-it was in the 99 cent section on sale...ok so tell me more about this music critic...

  • LOVE IT!

  • From the great album "Eydie Swings The Blues," which a famous music critic recently made fun of and I could tell immediately he'd never heard the album. It is terrific start to finish and part of a series of six outstanding albums Gorme made for ABC-Paramount records.

  • This is a great rendition of a fabulous song.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • what emotion! it seems as if she's looking back on a former affair... my heart aches

  • The singers nowadays couldn't do this. Michael Bubble tried to ding live on Oprah and screwed up big time. The singers from that era wouldn't have a chance today because they were individuals and didn't sound like anyone else.
