Eisenstein's treatment of the Germans in Alexander Nevsky, masterful propaganda released in 1938 just before Soviet-Nazi hostilities of WW2.

5:48 Masterful Eisenstein imagery with the the commander's arm motion to point at the prisoners to signal their execution... the immense, fearful power and poignancy of the sign provided by such a simple gesture conveys the urgent travesty of reality quite effectively. AAA+++ !!!

Ja natürlich ist es dumm und schändlich ist es Sowjetische propaganda von 1939 ! !! Sehen sie nicht als wirksame dämonisierung der Deutschen aus der Perspektive des Sowjetischen Staates in 1939 ? ??

  • @strudel89 Du mußt dein Leben ändern.

  • Interesting irony..... Sergie produces a film about Germanic outrage when Stalin was 'allied' with Germany. When Stalin asks Sergie to produce a patriotic film abot Russia, Sergia uses Ivan the Terrible. I think Sergie was a true subversive,

  • @zooeyhall I have understood you the expert for turd ....lol

  • @Vanyaaynav Oh blow off turd I know plenty about this.

  • @zooeyhall I yet did not read sillier comment than yours.... You not only not the expert on Eisenstein and to its film, but you also at all do not know history...)))

  • @zooeyhall Even if it wasn't for propaganda, it would change nothing because that what happened in history, nothing can change it.

  • @arcpeter You raise a valid point. I suppose that the question should be: "Did Eisenstein make this film as a true artist, with the intent of creating a masterpiece of cinema? Or did he do it to curry favor with, and glorify, Stalin and communism?" I'm not enough of an expert on the film and on Eisenstein to answer this question. But it seems as though the character of Nevsky in the film; as well as the anti-Catholic element, seems to indicate that he wanted to do latter.

  • @zooeyhall Few months actually. But anyway, why you always have to mention Stalin when you see something russian? Reflex action?
