Another Bad call
The Louisville player had full control of the ball as evidenced by his multiple steps after catching the ball. He then fumbles the ball after the UConn player makes contact, which is not the same thing as him muffing the punt, which he would imply that he never had possession which he does.

  • I don't understand- what's the difference between if he muffed the punt or fumbled it? either way he touched the ball first and lost it, which on a punt should mean it's a live ball.

  • @bigravensfan21

If it's a muff, the kicking team can only recover the ball and not advance it, the ball is dead at the the point of recovery, first down kicking team...

if it's a fumble, then the kicking team can recover the ball and advance it, in this case for a touchdown

  • Wow, someone from UConn saying they were robbed. Oh the irony! "Hello, Kettle? This is Pot...you're black".

  • Well seeing as this happened the year BEFORE the "fair catch" and posted to youtube the year BEFORE the "fair catch"... I'd Say it's the Louisville fans that are the kettles

  • well, this is a bad call but not as bad as the fair catch this year.

  • The NCAA could stop any contraversy like this from ever happen again. They can just say you can advance on ANY fumble, or you can't, making no differentiation from whether it was from a muffed kick or not.

  • I really do not understand what these replay officials see sometimes. This is a horrendous call. Look at some Indiana football highlights from last year, they were absolutely screwed over, and this is coming from a Purdue fan! (Purdue even got some big calls vs IU)

  • i like that little silence after the ref reviewed the call lol the announcers make me laugh

  • The referee in this game is a COCKSUCKER.

  • Muskiepk, are you watching the same video we are? In the video we watched, the returner got control of the football but got drilled. That's a fumble. Those refs must have forgotten to bring their glasses.

  • Ok, so you say he never had control... how long does it take to establish control then? HE CHANGED DIRECTION AND TOOK 3 STEPS WITH THE BALL BEFORE the uconn player knocked it away. That to me is establishing possession, making it a fumble not a muff
