Autism Speaks doesn't want autistics to speak, unless we say what they want. They even sued a 14 year old autistic girl for making a website parody called 'NT Speaks'. They produced a video in which a mother, in front of her autistic daughter, said she chose not to kill herself and her daughter only because of her non-autistic daughter - apparently there were more murders of autistic children after that was aired. They also claimed all parents of autistics felt that way.

Woodnic, people like you give "Autism Speaks" a very bad name. And I feel very sorry for your son.I think having you as a parent is worse then him being severally autistic. Look no further than yourself as to why many autistic people dislike "Autism Speaks".

I dislike autism speaks. They don't listen to us, non of us are on their board. They spending their money on a cure which many of us (my self included) don't want. They don't help autistic people. I haven't gotten any help from them. They aren't paying for my therapy. They aren't helping me get a decent job. They present a very negative view of autism. They are promoting eugenics under the guise of helping people with autism. Well I don't want their kind of "help"
