Dear SafeandSoundNL, I am not an American. I am European just like you, and I was talking tongue in cheek. That is, with a smile on my face. I just wanted to tease the Americans because they often think their country is the only one that counts. But Europe has a lot to offer. In fact, I have been several times on holiday in the Netherlands, and I love your country and respect your culture.
Best wishes,
Willy from Berlin, Germany

Beautiful. I'd want to go to Holland just to see the old windmills

You should, Jasmine. This windmill is near the town of Purmerend, which is maybe 20km from Amsterdam. When you visit, rent a bike, buy a cycling map of the Amsterdam surrounding area and enjoy ... their's a lot to see and do (don't be one of those fools who visit the Netherlands, just to see the inside of a coffeeshop).

why not? especially for Americans who come from a backwards police state, it may be very refreshing to experience European freedom and a liberal mind set!

I have nothing against people who consume soft drugs sanely. And I am pro legalizing. But come on, you really call spending time in a coffeeshop all day and looking fuzzy you're entire visit, is equal to "experiencing freedom and a liberal mindset"? It is as bourgeois as the old-fashioned family idea, with in reality a daily sherry drinking wife and a man leaving the house every morning with his lunchbox, trying to conceal his being unemployed! You're 'experience' is found elsewhere.
