TPR allows 3-5 trained individuals to enter a confined space such as a hospital room, make contact with the subject, take them down with control, passively restrain them, medicate and/or move them. This is accomplished without pain compliance, pressure on the joints, or pressure on the C Spine or chest. Instead, TPR is accomplished by using our unique understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and psychology.
@funkyphil1976 Asphyxiation would not have been a problem in this case. Unless someone is on the patients diaphragm then they can breathe. If the person is crying, talking or yelling then there're obviously breathing.

What the? Why tie him up? A standing transport hold would of done the trick!

Why agitate him further? Talking to him was fine but when he's pinned down !

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. YOu don't tie a person up and carry them down a hallway!! In a situation where the client is still moving around a great deal, you could easily drop him and hurt him or yourselves.

if you're thinking tying a sheet around the chest of a combative patient is going to A) actually effectively restrain them and B) is a SAFE way of transporting them, you are sorely mistaken!! wow.........
