Are you sure this isn't Wu Shu City? I see no monks or temples. Those Broadswords are set up Wu Shu style, kinda flashy.

This is a Wushu school near the Shaolin Temple. The abbot (head of the school) is a Shao Lin Monk. Children don't come here to be monks, they come to learn Wushu.

My contention is then, why would the "Abbot", teach the children in a way other than the way he was taught. Martial arts taught in a temple are a bit different. Unless its a temple that's run by the state, then the question is, is it a real temple? The Qing and eventually the Communists that they gave the country to don't like those "ideas". Don't you wonder?

As I said, parents do not send their children to this school to become monks. After graduation the students will most likely join the military or become police officers. Some will become instructors and some may join a performance troupe. They have no possiblity of going to a university because they recieve little education.

By the way, the school that is actually at the Shao Lin Temple is set up the same way as this school which is affiliated with the Shao Lin temple.
