In April 2006, the music teachers of Queen Anne's County Maryland put on a concert to help celebrate the tricentenial of QAC. I chose to perform a ridiculously difficult piece - the 24th Prelude and Fugue (in d minor) from Schostakovich's opus 87 (there's 24 total). It's not perfect, but it's not too bad for an amateur performance from a teacher (that means I don't have 4-6 hours a day to practice).

  • I wish I was that good. All I am good at is singing, and very little flute. My guitar skill are not even amateur. What a musical life you live.

  • ...and I envy vocalists. My kids usually make fun of me everyday for my vocal... skills? You perform professionally, so you must be doing something right! By the way, if you ever perform at home and need an accompanist, look me up (I'm in the Annapolis area). I enjoy working with soloists.

  • You know....... I have a good friend who lives in your area. I will have to see what she is up to when I'm in MD in February.

  • You better save time to jam when you do! Oooh! We can jam to Schubert lieder!
