Is Barack Obama a "Bound Man"

Prof Shelby Steele has written a book called A Bound Man: Why We Are Excited About Obama and Why He Can't Win.Steele is a self-described Black conservative. He opposes movements such as affirmative action, which he considers to be unsuccessful liberal campaigns to promote equal opportunity for African-Americans. Steele has written a short book which contains Steele's analysis of Barack Obama's character as a child born to a mixed couple who then has to grow as a black man.Steele then concludes that Barack Obama is a "bound man" to his "black identity. Is he Right?

The book wasnt misleading. You obviously didnt read it nor did you watch the interviews about it. Obama in many ways did exactly what he said. Also not that he later mentioned that the subtitle was something he wasn't happy with at the time.

There were many good points that continue to get missed by both whites and blacks.

The conversation in the clip above was based off of the Jan 2008 interview he gave with Bill Moyers. If you actual watched this video than you would have realized that We quoted Dr. Steele directly from that interview. Next time do you homework before spouting off you faceless you tube mouth!!!!!!

Dr Stelle's book is intellectual rubbish by a slick opportunist, who’s degreed and has an excellent authoritative disposition. Actually his intent is working even though he wrote a worthless book (which is a huge joke!), but he is making a hunger group of anger men within the popular culture feel better while profiting.

He's a typical "put down the other brother" to create confusion in the minds of white people, ultimately will draw attention to "myself" The reason y this brother finds it fascinating is bcause he fails to comprehend the stupidity in Shelby's bull. these people obviously didn't read the book: the lady discusses "systemic" racism with the logic being that we need a "systemic solution" but steele refutes all this logic very precisely and convincingly. again, people are being ideological and not rational in there thinking, it is destroying black america and it is making this interaction worthless
